In Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Harry and his cousin Dudley were spending another miserable summer at his aunt and uncle’s house when they were attacked by two Dementors. Using the Patronus Charm to protect himself in the presence of Muggles got Harry into all kinds of trouble at the Ministry of Magic. The wizards there were looking for reasons to punish and discredit him – they didn’t want to believe Voldemort was alive and called his Death Eaters together again. It would take a trip to the Ministry of Magic and Dumbledore’s great help to clear Harry and bring him back to Hogwarts for another year. It wasn’t until he met his new Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher, Dolores Umbridge, the most ruthless defender of the Ministry of Magic, that Harry breathed a sigh of relief. Harry couldn’t contain his anger when he called him a conspicuous liar, refused to teach true defensive magic (because what a bunch of kids need them for?), and started censoring and firing other teachers at Hogwarts . He had to do something to protect himself from Umbridge and prepare for the inevitable: the day he had to face Voldemort again.
In this exciting segment, Harry confronts incompetent politicians, cruel teachers and his worst enemy, Voldemort, who has actually returned despite what the Ministry of Magic says. Harry has so many exams to face during this challenging school year, thanks to new Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher Dolores Umbridge and the flattering Ministry Toad. She seemed determined to get that “liar” Harry Potter out of the Gryffindor Quidditch team forever, or worse, get it. Harry couldn’t control his temper when the veritable Umbridge was around. He also seemed unable to control his body and emotions, a development that was both fascinating and terrifying. Harry’s repeated dreams of long corridors and locked doors, bursts of emotions that were not his, and his scars often tingled. He suspects that his bond with Voldemort has grown stronger since his return, and he’s right when Harry witnesses in his sleep – and unknowingly was part of it – a vicious attack. Like Harry, readers will worry about the depth of the connection and who will be attacked next.
You’ll have to wait a moment to uncover the secret. The school year for Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix has been very busy, with the first real exam coming up, Harry trying out a date, and the Defence Against the Dark Arts club’s super-secret meeting – a brilliant idea from Hermione. Then there’s the rebellious antics of the Weasley twins, one of the most satisfying cheers in the entire series. It would be great if Harry’s fifth year ended on such a high note, but when will the year at Hogwarts end peacefully? The inevitable showdown is exciting, even more exciting, because Harry has a group of friends to fight with him – long live Neville, Luna and Ginny. After yet another fiasco, it was finally time for Dumbledore to say all he knew. It’s a stunning revelation that sets the stage for an even more intense showdown in the upcoming Harry Potter books. get ready.
